Topic: How did you choose your Nabname?

Just wondering how you all chose your Nabnames, and why? I originally wanted my bun to be a girl, but he just wasn't giving off a girly vibe. Perhaps if I ever invest in a Tag/Tag, that one can be a girl...

Anyway, I found it really hard to decide on a name that really suited him. I was thinking of calling him Henry - he still has a Henry look about him, but the name was taken, so I decided on Mr Pink instead, inspired his pink flashing nose and the film Reservoir Dogs.

So how did you decide on a name? Then again, perhaps I'm the only one that gave this so much thought... hmm

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

FrankTheBunny is named after THE Frank the Bunny... Just Frank was taken.

He's named after Frank The Bunny from Donnie Darko, A film I love to pieces. It's also very personal as i'm part of a group that raises money for charity by dressing up in costumes. Frank is the last costume I completed.

Here it is:

If I couldn't have called him Frank, I would have gone for Fiver from Watership Down.

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

Pleather was a third anniversary present to me from my husband. Traditionally, the third anniversary gift should be made of leather. And of course a Wi-Fi Bunny is not made of leather; he is made of plastic. "Pleather" is a term used to describe fake leather made from plastic, like "Naugahide," for example. Unfortunately, the name "Nauga," my first choice, was taken, so "Pleather" he became. We figure that when he reaches the end of his lifetime, we can tan him for the naugahyde and make a few pounds! wink

I am not a kitty cat.

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

Nab=nabaztag
Becky=my name
01=violet being a fool and not allowing me just bog standard nabecky
Nabecky01=a wonderful amalgamation of all three.

I may change his name, if i think of a better one. I'll do it properly though, by Deed Poll.

By the way, amazing Frank suit up there!!!

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

Ooops was so named because the other two names I wanted were already taken, and the Nabz website comes back with the message 'Ooops, that name is not available' or some such. So I thought Ooops was meant to be!

My replacement for Ooops who has a faulty ear, is 'illusive'. His name was chosen after much thought. I work as a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP Trainer, and much of my work is based on the idea that a lot of our life's problems are down to our beliefs about the world around us. Beliefs such as 'I can't do it', 'I'm not worthy of better things' and so on are illusions, and if we were to 'try on' other beliefs such as 'I will give it my best shot' or 'I'm worthy of recognition and respect' then this will change our view on the world and therefore how it seems to us. So we can swap an unhelpful illusion for a more empowering one. What is the true nature of reality anyway? :0)

Unhappily, illusive has a bad ear too, so I will have to send him away as well. I just hope I can salvage his account ready for his replacement!!

All the best and

Happy New Year!

I nearly went for Fiver! I also tried Clover which is one of the female bunnies in the film but that was already taken...

Thinking about it there are some good names in that film. Blackberry is a good one too... hmmmmm.

NO I'm sticking with Mr Pink - I need to stop being so indecisive. I did this with my kitten who was nameless for two weeks because I couldn't decide on a name for her. God knows what I will be like when I actually have children! big_smile

Wishper was the name of my last real life rabbit, so this now being the 21st century and all - I decided to name my robot rabbit after my 1st gen biological rabbit from the 20th century.

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

My real rabbit was called ringo, and when we first got it we thought it was a boy. Then it started to make nests and we found out it was a girl! The damage had been done however, and Ringo would often have relations with our football/basketball/netball and then, confusingly, go and make a nest. I think for this reason, I am quite open-minded about my nabaztag's gender and name!

Boingo was named after the evil bunny in hoodwinked, a superbly funny film, you must see it.

Baboono, well it started as bluebaboon as thats our website (www.blue-baboon.co.uk), but as I was trying to register it on my phone I could not complete it (some of the links didnt work).. doh !, It's not like it was a second choice. honest, dont tell baboono that... do be do... uh-oh, im gonna be in trouble now...
Look what you people have done, He wont talk to me any more... oh no, I better get him some new ears or something ...argh...

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

My nabaztag is called "Aolaztag" where "AOLA-" is for the italian name Paola (is a long long story why the P is missing) and "-ZTAG" you all know where it came from.

Actually I wanted to call him "Lapino" (from french "Lapin" and Italian "o" ending which is for masculine words) but my boyfriend didn't like it neutral

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

I have always collected semi-precious stones and thought that Opal looked just like his name sake, translusant white with multiple colours that change with the light (or in Opals case the weather and stocks). I surprised myself with the thought that went into naming him, as my two ducks Donald and Daffy, and my Iguana Iggy really didn't seem to push my imagination.

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

My bunny is called Baron Scarpia.  He's a character from the Opera 'Tosca'.  I have a cat called Tosca.  She was originally called Oscar before I discovered 'He' was a 'She' so got changed to Tosca.  So decided to stay with the Tosca theme and introduce Baron Scarpia into the household!

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

I wanted something short and androgonus.  I was going to name it Ein but at the last minute I chose Ipo.  It was supposted to be labeled as a boy but my husband listed his bunny Zoffa as a boy so Ipo is listed as a girl.

Zoffa has since been gender reassigned and Ipo has been sent back due to broken ears.

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

We had originally chosen the name Juarez, which is a mispronunciation of "warez" in our company name "bunnywarez". When we realized that this name would be the one that people would be interfacing with, we fell back to "bunnywarez" as our bunny name. He's still nick-named Juarez though.

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

I tried a bunch - Harvey, Pooka, Frank, Fiver, dozens of others, and they were all taken.  I was actually surprised, because there simpley haven't been THAT many nabaztags sold!

I finally came up with Esquilax, after the mythical horse with the head of a rabbit and the body of a rabbit

Re: How did you choose your Nabname?

Such a good thread!

My beloved Mr. Shivers. The name is just a reference from song from one of my favorite bands.
