Topic: AmbientHackystat Project with the Nabaztag/tag
Greetings all,
I'm a student at the U. of Hawaii, Manoa campus doing a group project that will incorporate the nabaztag bunny. This group project involves using ambient devices, including the Nabaztag/tag, to provide eXtreme feedback to a developer team. What this means is that during the build process of software development, these devices will act as a visual (and perhaps audio with nabaztag) mean of telling the development team how well their project is doing, if their developmental practices are effective in this developmental process, etc.
Now you maybe asking, "how will the nabaztag be able to tell how well our developmental process is doing, etc?". We will be incorportating the Hackystat framework, which was designed here at UH by a team led by my professor for this current project. The hackystat is an open source framework for collection, analysis, visualization, interpretation, annotation, and dissemination of software development. It does so by using sensors that correct raw data within developmental tools (ant, junit, Eclipse, VS, just to name a few) that send data to a sensorbase. From this sensorbase, we can query data about the developmental process and use it to light up the ambient devices accordingly, that is the idea at least.
By the end of this semester, we hope to be able to have an application that detects new data from the sensor base and the ambient devices will be able to perform actions according to the data polled. We hope this will be very helpful (and add some fun) to a developmental process.
