So, the Nabaztag/tag has this nifty belly with a microphone.
Do you know what your bun is doing all day long?
Do you know who is activating the microphone and at what times?
Do you know who is streaming all your communication the bun is listening to when and to whom?
I'm not saying anyone is really doing that. But it definitely would be possible to turn your little toy into a spy.

Not that scary. A whole bunch of people leave their computers connected to the internet idly all day with mics or webcams plugged in.
I'll try not to hold top-secret military operations conversations beside the bunny, though.

Agreed. But the difference is that some hacker/worm/virus has to gain access to those computers and manipulate them, whereas the Nabaztags poll for commands every few seconds/minutes.
And with violet making a big secret about the BC and all it's even hard to monitor.
May be that there is a very simple solution.
Is the microphone connected by wire with the mainboard or is it surface mounted on the mainboard? Does anybody know?
If it is connected by wire, then it is very easy and a little switch can solve the problem. If the microphone is mounted on the mainboard it needs a little more to build in the switch.
