Topic: Can't set up traffic reports on my.violet.net

I can't see any way to set up the city for my traffic report on my.violet.net. The programmers have failed to port this facility across to my.violet.net.

This product is a farce.

Re: Can't set up traffic reports on my.violet.net

Hi Ian, we hear you.....:)

However, it's pretty pointless continually posting bugs on here.  The product is in limbo.  We're lucky that post-September it does anything at all - as when Violet went bust it was assumed that all the services would die.

Now - there are apparentely only two people from Violet being kept in in the new company.  This means that it's very very very very unlikely that any bugs will be removed in the near future - AND it's still possible that the bunny services will be switched off.

If the product is not performing as you wish, your only recourse is to take it back to the place you purchased it from within the statutory period defined by UK law.

Re: Can't set up traffic reports on my.violet.net

Hi. I think it's important to list all bugs here, even if nothing is done about it. Potential buyers of a rabbit might google this website for more info. They need to be informed consumers. Likewise it's important to continue to report bugs to violet while they're still afloat so that they are aware that people are not complacent about the situation, even if nothing is done.

Re: Can't set up traffic reports on my.violet.net

Do they have traffic available for England?  I see it's an option on the French language version of my.nabaztag.com, but not the British or American English version.  There's not, to my knowledge, one international source for real time traffic reports in a single common format.

Re: Can't set up traffic reports on my.violet.net

And yet, the advertise the feature in English.

Re: Can't set up traffic reports on my.violet.net

Agree they advertise in English a service that is limited to countries where English is not the primary language.

I haven't used their "read an RSS" service, as I custimize the ones I use first on my PC, extracting and formatting the data I want.  But you might try that, feeding it an RSS feed of traffic in the area of interest.

Are you in England?  A starting point for RSS traffic feeds for England would be http://www.highways.gov.uk/traffic/11278.aspx  It's by region or major motorway, not by city.

The BBC posted in 2005! that they'd make their travel news available via RSS, but I sure can't find any links.  In the U.S., we have multiple free sources for many cities.
