Topic: violet.net - bug ridden website

I've just bought a 2nd hand rabbit thing. I can't believe how many bugs there are on violet.net.

The messaging system doesn't work

ztamps do not allow you to attach an app - with "an error has been reported" type message every time you try.

Slow, sluggish and unresponsive

What a disaster this whole company is.

Re: violet.net - bug ridden website

... you do know they've gone bust?
They've only just been rescued by Mindscape (October 20th 2009), but app. there's only a couple of original people left.
On that basis, you need to be somewhat patient - and with no guarantees.  We're all in the same boat.

Re: violet.net - bug ridden website

It seems to me the product was not in a fit state (mostly due to the poor software/server config), making false claims, well before they went bust. Indeed, the concept of depending upon 1 company to provide the network rather than allowing the users an EASY autonomous option is foolish.

Yes, they have been rescued. The state of the company is not my problem. If they are still trading the product should be fit for purpose, and should have been for some time. You don't put a car on the market without a stearing wheel, no matter how promising it looks.

Re: violet.net - bug ridden website

Ian, I agree with what you say, however as you bought a "2nd hand rabbit thing" your only claim can be with the person who sold it to you not the manufacturer.  My bunny is working fine at the moment - but as your correctly indicate making certain changes to configs on violet.net causes the site to crap out.  You can't delete appications, for example, the only way to do so is via my.nabaztag.com - the old (and more reliable) site.  We'll all have to wait and see what happens sad
It's no worse than buying a Apple-locked iPhone ;-)
