Topic: setup help - offline - blinking purple

Hi,

I'm new to this group, so hello everyone.  I hope someone here can help me.  I've opened a ticket with violet support but they've gone radio silence on me so I'm not sure where to go at this point?  Maybe someone here can help me??

Let me give you as much information as possible.  My rabbit (nabaztag) has been off for 18 months or so.  I had moved and didn't have wireless Internet for awhile and blah, blah, blah...i finally got this guy back on.  I had some connection issues at first, but eventually got all the lights to go green (yeah!).  So now the little guy is blinking purple and all looks good on my end.  He's on my network, i can ping the bunny and get replies.  Internet connection is good.  I'm using an Apple Airport Extreme (802.11b/g) and I see the rabbit in the DHCP.  I go to my.violet.net account and login and the rabbit is showing offline.  I can't send him messages and he's not getting any updates from the applications (i.e. won't tell me the time).  just sits there quietly blinking purple (maybe he's just mad cause he's been in a box too long? LOL)

If anyone has ANY ideas I'd love to hear them.  Please let me know if you would like any more info.

TIA,
c*

Re: setup help - offline - blinking purple

Hi,

Violet changed the servers the rabbits connect to about a year ago.  I had some problems then and contacted support and they told me to set the server connection setting to 62.210.186.165/vl

I've pasted the whole response below.  Hope this helps!

AS an aside, I've been getting repeated disconnects and reconnects of late.  Not sure if it's my wireless or their servers.  Let me know if you see something similar.

Cheers,

Hello,

Thanks for your message.

Indeed, we moved our servers, and the platform address has changed.
You should be informed by an e-mail we sent to all rabbit connected to the old
platform IP address.

In order to connect your rabbit to the internet again, we invite you to follow
these steps :
- Put your bunny in "all blue" mode (press his button while plugging him in
and when his lights are blue let go of the button)
- Go to the nabaztagXX network in your list of wireless networks to connect
directly to your bunny
- Wait about 20 seconds then go to the configuration page at
http://192.168.0.1 in your web browser
- In the Advanced configuration' section, make sure that Proxy is set to 'No'
- In the section, ‘General info’ (found in the ‘Advanced configuration’
section), replace the Violet platform address to r.nabaztag.com/vl , or to
62.210.186.165/vl if the previous address was already tried
- Check that your rabbit's firmware is indeed 0.0.0.10 (you will find it at
the bottom of your rabbit's configuration page).
- Press ‘Update and Start’ at the bottom of the page and your bunny should
connect again automatically.
