No idea why this product seems to be so secretive, I know virtually nothing about it apart from it was meant to be released earlier this year - really looking forward to it's release - does anyone have any information on it or even better any idea at all of a rough release date?
I thought it was due in Q1-2009, but have not heard about it beyond that. I signed up to be notified of its availability via the Violet site so hopefully they will send an update soon.
It seems like a v2 of the ambient Dal lamp they released in 2004, which was apparently an embedded Linux device and fairly expensive--just under US$1000 according to this post at First Glimpse . I read somewhere target price for the new Dal:Dal lamp would be around US$75. I'm imagining it will do mostly the same things as the Nabaztag:tag bunny, but in a different form factor for those who don't care for talking rabbits with attitude and moving ears. I am surely one of those people and hope to see an even more capable version of the Nabaztag with even more attitude. What do you say, Violet?
